Micah has really been practicing standing today. This picture doesn't show it but he has been standing on his own without support for 20-30 seconds at a time and he's been practicing that all afternoon today. 

What happens when mommy walks away

I have a little shadow...

His name is Micah and he hates for his mommy to walk away from him even if he's busy playing. Once or maybe twice is okay but more than that and he comes a crawling after me. 

But he's awfully cute! Even when he is hanging onto my leg. 

In developmental updates: He stood for at least a good 15 seconds if not 20 seconds. All by his self. He pulled up on my leg while I was sitting down and stood there! 

Still no teeth in sight though.

Differences

I went back and looked through the archives from when I started blogging and came across a post where Abby is roughly Micah's age. It's interesting to look at the differences in my two babies. Abby had 4 - yes 4 teeth by then where as Micah has none. I can't say I'm too sad about that fact. I love gummy baby smiles. Just love them!

Abby also seems to be a little bit chubbier. She seems to have had more rolls at 8 months than Micah does. They crawled at roughly the same age {give or take a week or two} so it can't be that one started moving earlier than another.

0-60 in 7 seconds flat

These pictures were taken exactly 7 seconds apart this morning. 

This pretty much explains how our day has gone around here. 

Colds

Sunday afternoon Micah was really clingy. He had been happy Sunday morning, played happily in Bible class. Beau joked that he was grumpy with me for cramping his style in bible class so that he couldn't have all the attention from the sweet bibleland ladies. Sunday night it was apparent he just plain didn't feel good. Monday he was cranky and clingy still but no real fever either. Both evenings though he did something he hasn't done in a long time.... he cuddled up on me and just was content to lay there and eventually dozed off. He seemed to feel fine Tuesday but he again dozed off on me that evening. 


Beau put it best and I couldn't agree more. We had that they don't feel well but love the extra sweet cuddles we get when they are sick. 


I hesitate to post this picture because it isn't exactly flattering but it's just so sweet how he was content to just lay on me. 

Bible class

When I'm not doing my volunteer weekend Micah talks this sweet ladies
into singing to him the whole time. When I pick him up he's the only
one left at the table.

Jealousy starts early

Abby wants cuddles. 


Climbs into Mommy's lap.


Micah almost immediately takes note that his lap is no longer free and waiting just for him.


Micah crawls over and whines. 


Until he gets his lap back. 


Thanks goodness Daddy was here to provide another lap this time.
