We have a stair climber

Uh oh! Gigi thought she was being silly and tried to teach Micah how to climb the stairs while she was here last week. He didn't really get much of a chance to practice after her little 'lesson' yet he must have been plotting his stair climbing technique the days we were away because this evening he managed to make it up two stairs twice before he got stopped in his tracks. I'm in big trouble now! 


He also chose to wear much of his dinner tonight. This was taken after wiping his face, hands and neck and there were peas and green beans still hanging on! He actually did really well eating tonight (as he had the past couple days when I fed him store bought food instead of mommy made food - geez am I that bad a cook I can't steam and puree baby food well enough for him to enjoy?) However after he was done eating he managed to grab at the spoon, get his hands messy and then cover his face with that! 

I still think I need to send Tyler Florence an email about his Sprout baby food and complain that my baby wouldn't eat the food I so lovingly prepared for him but instead goobled up the pears and apricot Sprout food I purchased while we were traveling. 

Santa

We went to breakfast with Santa last Saturday and Micah got to the meet Jolly St. Nick for the first time. This was Abby's 3rd experience with Santa and she was much less happy about it than her first experience but better than her second. (We skipped Santa last year as I knew she wouldn't be too happy about it) 

We did get one family shot of all of us together with Santa but as I was in the picture I obviously couldn't be taking it at the same time. I guess Abby and Micah might get a second shot at seeing Santa if we go with all Pop's side of the family for an updated grandkids with Santa photo - we'll see how that goes.

Yes I did let the baby crawl all over the ground shoe/sockless no less. He was so tired of being in the car seat and wanted needed to wiggle around. 

I'm coming mama....

Micah does not in any way shape or form stay where you put him anymore. He is go - go - go all day long! Except of course when he is sleepy!  

Do you see his new sweet ride in the background? So far mommy likes it way better than he does - it strolls so smoothly (and easily one handed!) but Micah wanted and needed mommy cuddles today after not sleeping so well last night due to his stuffy yucky nose. Usually I wear him anyway - plus the extra stroller space made great storage for all our purchases!

Micah vs coffee table

It may have won that battle but Mama will win the war (taking the
coffee table out of the room effective immediately!) Micah pulled up
for the first time a couple days ago and pulled up in my lap trying to
get to the coffee table yesterday which when he lost his balance I
couldn't stop him quickly enough to avoid him hitting his sweet little
head. Abby never did that - when she pulled up she was steadier on her
feet buy Micah is determined to try and try even if he is wobbly.

Micah is officially pulling up now. He pulled up on the dishwasher drawer.

Cheerios

So I discovered yesterday that the baby who isn't really too interested in eating purees (unless of course Daddy feeds him but even then it's only maybe 3 more bites than the 3 that mommy can convince him to eat) likes cheerios.
